Cheat india,Cheat India Movie:Almost a week ahead of its release in the cinemas, the title of
the Emraan Hashmi-starrer Cheat India has
been changed to Why Cheat India following
objection by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to a
report in Mumbai Mirror, the Board felt that the title was ‘misleading in the
context of the film.’
Talking about the same, the film’s co-producer Tanuj Garg told the
tabloid, “The Board had concerns about the previous title. We had an extensive
conversation about the proposed changes since the theatrical trailer and TV
promos have already been certified with the original title. We felt this could
lead to dual communication with the audience but finally, in the interest of
time, we mutually agreed on a title change.”
With little time left for the release of the film – it hits the
screens on January 18, the makers chose not to contest the Board’s decision and
agreed to change the title. Earlier on Wednesday, the CBFC cleared the film
with a minor alteration where a shot of drug use was blurred out.
Why Cheat India, directed by Soumik Sen, also stars Shreya Dhanwantary
playing an important role. The film sheds light on the many loopholes in the
Indian education system, the exam fraud in particular.
