Akshay Kumar to play the villain opposite Kamal Haasan in Shankar’s Indian 2?

Akshay Kumar, who was seen playing the villain in Shankar’s 2.0 that starred Rajinikanth as the protagonist, may be collaborating with the director for the second time.

Akshay Kumar, who was seen playing the villain in Shankar’s 2.0 that starred Rajinikanth as the protagonist, may be collaborating with the director for the second time. If a report on DNA is anything to go by, Khiladi Kumar will portray a negative character yet again in the director’s Indian 2.
The mega-budgeted project will be a sequel to his 1994 film Indian that starred Kamal Haasan as the main man. Last Tuesday, an introductory poster of the film was released  by the makers.

According to the report, Shankar had first approached Ajay Devgn for an important role in the film. The actor was offered the part of a police man. Reasoning why Ajay failed to come on board, a source told the newspaper, “Both, Ajay and Kamal, were keen to collaborate on this film. However, for various reasons, including his prior commitments, Ajay couldn’t come on board.”

“Akshay and Shankar, who became good friends by the time 2.0 was wrapped, had reportedly spoken about working together again when something suitable came their way. And looks like that has happened soon after the film’s release,” the source said further.

Shah Rukh Khan who was earlier roped in, to feature in Rakesh Sharma's biopic Saare Jaahan Se Accha, has now opted out of the film. Reports suggest that he might have chosen to take up Don 3 instead.

It seems that Zero's box office failure has led Shah Rukh Khan to reconsider his film choices. While there were reports floating that Sha Rukh will star in astronaut Rakesh Sharma's biopic Saare Jaahan Se Accha and has chosen to feature in Don 3 instead. In fact, reports suggested that that megastar was apparently going to begin shooting for the biopic next month as it was lined after Zero's release. 
However, according to a report in DNA,  Shah Rukh has opted out of the film and will now feature in Don 3 which is likely to go on floors this year. Rakesh Sharma biopic which was apparently being directed by Mahesh Mathai, was going to be produced by the actor himself and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The lead role was initially offered to Aamir Khan but due to work commitments, he recommended it to SRK. 
Talking to DNA a while back, Shah Rukh had said, "I thank Aamir, who was to do the film for calling me and telling me about the role as it would suit me. I will try and spend time with Rakesh Sharma." According to earlier reports, Priyanka Chopra had been roped in to play the female lead in the film too, however, no official news has been disclosed by either of the producers or the actors. 

Farhan Akhtar who earlier directed the Don instalments said at the trailer launch of Gully Boy that a big announcement was about to come. While speculations have been rife that this would pertain to his wedding with Shibani Dandekar, it could also be the shooting of Don 3 where SRK has been the lead actor before.
