An Honorary Fellow of the Trinity College of Music, Rahman is a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, and was named as one of the 'World's Most Influential People' by Time in 2009. Apart from this, he has won four national awards and several Filmfare awards. It was in 2009 that he grounded his roots firm in both Hollywood and Bollywood by winning the prestigious Academy Award for Best Original Song and Best Original Music Score for Slumdog Millionaire.
